A BTS has multiple transceivers to serve varying frequencies and sectors. It also has an Antenna for transmission of signals to other entities.

What is a base station controller (BSC)?

The BSC is a combination of software and hardware devices. For example, the Base Station Controller enables call setup and termination. The BTS also has an Alarm extension system that registers working status alarms of various units within the BTS.
